Summary
Sportsmercato is a project in its test phase. This page explains, in plain language, which data we handle, why, and what your rights are.
Data about players and clubs
Player, club and competition data comes from public sources, mainly Wikidata (public domain, CC0). Photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are used under each author’s licence, with credit on the player page and on the credits page.
For players under 18 we show only the age, not the date of birth. If you are a player or guardian and want data or a photo corrected or removed, use the contact page.
Your account data
If you create an account we store your name, email, the role you state (agent, scout, etc.), an encrypted version of your password (never the password itself) and the content you record yourself: portfolio, notes, commissions, club requests, deals, lists and saved searches. This content is private and only you see it, except for lists you choose to share by link.
We use this data to make your account work. We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.
Shared lists
Anyone who receives a list’s link can see it without an account. We only record how many times and when the list was opened, so the owner knows, without identifying who opened it.
Cookies and storage
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and browser storage to remember the light or dark theme, your chosen language and the compare selection. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
For security, our servers log technical access data, such as the IP address, for a limited time to detect abuse.
Your rights
You can access, correct, download and delete your data. In My area, under the Account tab, there is a button to download everything you stored (JSON) and another to delete the account, which erases all your content. For other requests, use the contact page.
Changes
We may update this policy as the project evolves. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
